Employers
and graduate schools look for students who have graduated from an accredited
program. The BA degree in social work is equivalent to the BSW degree
as recognized by the Council of Social Work Education.
B.A.S. Police Science Program - Course Requirements (PDF)
- While it is possible to obtain an entry level position in law enforcement with an AS degree, a bachelor’s degree is a prerequisite for career advancement.
- Wartburg’s BAS Police Science degree allows students considerable flexibility in the courses needed for graduation. If they choose, students can earn a minor in psychology, community sociology, social welfare, or other related disciplines.
- This degree allows students to earn credit for internships, field experiences, and other opportunities that provide professional exposure and networking. Students also have the option for independent study, enabling them to explore specific topics of personal/professional interest.
- Students accepted into this program are provided with a faculty advisor from the point of application who assists them in transferring academic credits from Hawkeye Community College and provides guidance in selecting courses that best meet their interests and professional goals.
