The Rev. Bonita Bock brings to the program 25+ years of experience in urban ministry and community involvement. She arranges and supervises internships, handle housing arrangements and other logistical/administrative aspects of the Wartburg West and Denver Semester programs, and teaches all the classes. She resides in one of Denver’s most diverse inner-city neighborhoods. She visits campus periodically to meet with students interested in the Wartburg West program.

Bonita is a graduate of Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, and a 1980 graduate of Luther Northwestern Seminary and served as co-pastor of American Lutheran Church in Baker, Mont. until she and her husband, Nelson, moved to Denver in the fall of 1984. In 1987, the Bocks founded the Urban Servant Corps, a Christian volunteer service ministry in Denver’s inner-city. Bonita served as its director until April 1998.
