ORANGE CONNECTION
> OPPORTUNITIES
In the Traditional OC, first and second year students job shadow alumni for two days. Students are accompanied by two Wartburg College staff. Students come from a variety of majors and are asked to reflect on their experiences after completion of the OC.
Structured to be similar to the Traditional OC, the Independent OC offers second and third year students the opportunity to shadow alumni in pairs and develop skills that they will utilize in the job search process. A pair of students will apply to travel to a particular region and stay with alumni while job shadowing for 2-3 days. Students will receive financial support form the institution, but will travel independently.
The OC Internship is primarily coordinated through the Center for Community Engagement. Students will work with the Internship Coordinator to develop a plan for extended internship with an alumni of Wartburg. Students will receive a monetary stipend while they are participating in the internship.
Based on the famous show “Roadtrip Nation,” students in OC Roadtrip receive funding to take to the highway to interview alumni about what vocation means to them. Students spend approximately one week travelling and interviewing alumni.
The following internship opportunities
are an example of what is possible with the “Orange”
Connection. This is not an exhaustive list. We have over 600 alumni
in the Chicago area. If you are interested in participating and
have a different kind of opportunity in mind, we will work with
you to find a willing alumnus whose job & employer match up
with what you are looking for.
