Rev. Carol Teare will join the adjunct music faculty at Wartburg this fall. She will be directing the Castle Singers and St. Elizabeth Chorale while Dr. Jane Andrews is on sabbatical.
Rev. Carol Teare is an ordained American Baptist Minister with more than 25 years of experience in fulltime church music ministry. She has served as pastor, organist, choral and hand bell director for American Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist congregations. In July of this year Carol was elected to the office of President-Elect for The Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians.
Most recently, Carol was Associate Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Waterloo, Iowa, where she directed and administrated a fully graded choir program of nine choirs and instrumental ensembles. Her choirs perform a wide variety of musical styles and have sung on such prestigious stages as Carnegie Hall in New York City and The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
With experience as a hospital chaplain and public school music educator, her professional experience has also included responsibility for preaching, pastoral care and worship leadership for traditional, contemporary, and Taize services.
Rev. Teare graduated with a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities where she was awarded the distinction of being named a Dayton Scholar. She received an undergraduate degree in music education summa cum laude from The University of Northern Iowa. |
