"Real Men Sing" Choir Festival featuring Rockapella
Oct. 4, 2014
Hosted by the Wartburg Ritterchor and directed by Dr. Lee Nelson, this festival is unlike any other in Iowa. Over 500 male singers from around the midwest will join in a day of singing and voice masterclasses. There will be two festival choirs: one for changing voices (Grades 7-9/10; conducted by Tesfa Wondemagegnehu) and one for changed voices (Grade 9/10-adult; conducted by Dr. Lee Nelson). There will also be director's workshops dealing with the male voice, program development, recruitment, and repertoire for your program. Students will have the opportunity to work with the internationally recognized men’s pop group Rockapella in a masterclass setting then share in a concert with them. The one-day festival will culminate with a finale concert that is open to the public at 5 p.m. in Neumann Auditorium.
