    Jill Gremmels was a panelist at Iowa Private Academic Libraries meeting, March 2004. 

    Council of Independent Colleges 2004 Workshop: The Transformation of the College Library: Paper presented, “The Perfect Partnership in a Perfect Storm: How Classroom and Library Faculty Created an Integrated Information Literacy Program at Wartburg College” by Randall Schroeder and Terrence Lindell as lead speakers in Minneapolis, MN, June 3-5, 2004. 

    Iowa Private Academic Libraries Conference: An Assessment Summit. Randall Schroeder presented an overview of Wartburg’s information literacy program. The presentation was part of the sessions on institutionally created information literacy assessment tools at Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA, on March 16, 2005. 

    ACRL and TLT Group Webcast: "Information Literacy Across the Curriculum: Using the Information Literacy Standards as a Blueprint for Strategic Curriculum Planning.” Session presented by Randall Schroeder and Jill Gremmels entitled “Information Literacy Across the Curriculum at Wartburg College.” Part of a three week webcast workshop with the Naval Academy and Southern California University. May 19, 2005. 

    2nd Annual DMACC Information Literacy Forum: Making Connections: Refocusing the Library Assignment. Randall Schroeder, Jill Gremmels, and Karen Lehmann presented, “Collaborations with Faculty – Turbocharged! : Information Literacy Across the Curriculum at Wartburg College” Des Moines, IA, June 17, 2005. 

    ALA RUSA Reference Services Section on New Reference Research: The Reference Research Forum.  Paper presented by Jill Gremmels and Karen Lehmann at ALA Annual Conference, “Assessment of Student Learning from Reference Service,” Chicago, IL, June 25, 2005.  

    ACRL and TLT Group Webcast: "Information Literacy Across the Curriculum: Using the Information Literacy Standards as a Blueprint for Strategic Curriculum Planning.” Session presented by Jill Gremmels and Randall Schroeder entitled “Information Literacy Across the Curriculum at Wartburg College.” Part of a three week webcast workshop with the Naval Academy and Southern California University. October 20, 2005. This was a requested repeat of a similar session on May 19, 2005.

    ILA/ACRL Spring Conference: Karen Lehmann joined a panel to share data on Wartburg’s EN111/EN112 information literacy pre-testing as part of a discussion on “First-Year Students: Are They Ready for Research?” Iowa City, IA, April 21, 2006. 

    Council of Independent Colleges: The Transformation of the College Library 2006 Workshop. Randall Schroeder and Terrence Lindell presented paper “The Perfect Partnership in a Perfect Storm: How Classroom and Library Faculty Created an Integrated Information Literacy Program at Wartburg College” as lead speakers April 20-22, 2006, at Boston, Massachusetts. This was an invitation to repeat a paper given at a similar CIC workshop in Minneapolis in 2004. 

    Iowa OCLC Users Group (IOUG), Karen Lehmann moderated presentations to Reference Roundtable, Davenport, IA, May 26, 2006. 

    ALA Annual Conference “Scientific Literacy for the Everyday Consumer.” American Library Association Science and Technology Section poster presentation by Kimberly Babcock Mashek, New Orleans, LA, June 2006. 

    Council of Independent Colleges: The Transformation of the College Library 2007 Workshop. Randall Schroeder and Terrence Lindell presented paper “The Perfect Partnership in a Perfect Storm: How Classroom and Library Faculty Created an Integrated Information Literacy Program at Wartburg College” as lead speakers March 1-3, 2007, at Portland, Oregon. This was an invitation to repeat a paper given at a similar CIC workshop in Minneapolis in 2004 and Boston in 2006. 

Consultations:

    Randall Schroeder and Terry Lindell were panelists on integrating Information Literacy into the major at the Knox College Faculty Development Workshop on Information Literacy, Information Literacy: Assignments and Curricular Design at Galesburg, IL, August 19, 2003. 

    Jill Gremmels consulted on information literacy assessment with Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, Lincoln, IL, 2003.  

    Jill Gremmels presented “Information Literacy:  What Is It and Why Does It Matter?” to faculty as part of an information literacy consultation at Taylor University, Upland, IN, August 2003. 

    Consultation at Ripon College by Jill Gremmels and Karen Lehmann regarding Information Literacy Programming for librarians, faculty, and student mentors, August 25-26, 2004.  Randall Schroeder arranged consultation and helped in preparation. 

    Jill Gremmels consulted on library building opportunities and possibilities at Northland College, Ashland, WI, 2004.

    Jill Gremmels consulted on information literacy at Keene State College, Keene, NH, 2004.  

    Randall Schroeder and Jill Gremmels led workshop for librarians and faculty entitled, Great Papers! Less Plagiarism!: Planning an Information Literacy Curriculum at Tidewater Community College, Portsmouth, VA, September 22-23, 2005. 

    Karen Lehmann (as a CSA Discovery Prize Awardee) invited by CSA, vendor of library research databases, to participate in online consultation about a product in progress, September 14, 2006.  

    Randall Schroeder and Terrence Lindell spoke via teleconference with Mount Ida College (Boston) program directors regarding departmental Information Literacy plans as part of Mount Ida's - Program Retreat Day, Integrating ACC Learning Objectives in Programs through Course Learning Objectives. May 24, 2006. 

    Randall Schroeder and Jill Gremmels spoke via teleconference to California Lutheran University program directors as part of a series of brown bag lunches. The program was entitled “Now the Hard Part: How can we Integrate Library Instruction into the Curriculum?” November 8, 2006.

Awards / Invitational Conferences:

    Best Practices in Information Literacy Programming Invitational Conference. Academic and College Research Libraries (ACRL) conference: Jill Gremmels, Randall Schroeder, Karen Lehmann, Ferol Menzel, Terrence Lindell.  Atlanta, GA, June 11-13, 2002. 

    Jill Gremmels, Karen Lehmann and Ferol Menzel were members of the Wartburg team invited to inaugural The Transformation of the College Library workshop sponsored by CIC, Columbia, MD, September 19-21, 2002. 

    Karen Lehmann, with Kathy Kremer, was awarded the $1000 Judge’s Prize in the inaugural CSA Sociological Abstracts Discovery Prize contest, May 15, 2006.

    The Vogel Library website (www.wartburg.edu/library) received a “Best of Show” Award for the Web Page/Home Page division in LAMA’s Public Relations Swap and Shop event at the ALA Annual Conference, New Orleans, LA, June 2006. 

    Kimberly Babcock Mashek received a Runner-Up award for a READ poster submitted to the ALA Graphics READ CD Poster Contest, July 2006. 

    The Vogel Library received a “Best of Show” Award for the Calendars and/or Newsletters division in LAMA’s Public Relations Swap and Shop event at the ALA Annual Conference, Washington, D.C, June 2007. 

    Karen Lehmann was selected as the first recipient of the ILA-ACRL Research Award, presented March 3, 2008, at the organization’s annual conference in Davenport. The Iowa Library Association’s academic libraries subdivision offers the award and a monetary grant for a presented or published scholarly work by a current member. Lehmann’s winning article, “Assessment of Student Learning at the Reference Desk,” was co-authored with Jill Gremmels, and appeared in the November 2007 issue of College & Research Libraries.
