WHY WARTBURG: Wartburg’s communication arts program provided an unparalled education—from instructors who had real-life professional experiences to hands-on student expriences with Wartburg Television, The Trumpet student newspaper, and Tower Agency—that set students up for employment immediately following graduation. When I visited, I was blown away by the opportunities in and out of the classroom.

WHAT DID YOU NEVER IMAGINE YOU WOULD DO BEFORE COMING TO WARTBURG: I never imagined I would have the opportunity to gain an urban experience prior to graduation. The Wartburg West program provided that experience and led me to where I am today.

HOW DID WARTBURG PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE: The hands-on experience and internship opportunities I had within the communication arts department prepared me for a job in my field immediately following graduation. Wartburg’s mission of leading a life of service and leadership is something that has consistently driven my life—to better understand society, to be more compassionate toward others, and to have the drive to always do better and always help those around to be better.

WHY IS WARTBURG WORTH IT: First and foremost, I received an education with real-world experiences that prepared me for a professional future. But parellel to my education are the lifelong friends I made and the understanding of community and what it means to lead a life of service, which has opened up an immeasurable amount of opportunity in my life.
