Thanks for a wonderful show of talent and global spirit. I was very much touched by the kind words and sentiments you all expressed for my work here. I will be around for a long time, just in different capacities. Best wishes to you all!
--Dave Fredrick, Int’l Admissions
What a wonderful performance! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was extremely impressed by all of the talent on stage that evening. Keep up the great work!
Jeff Beck, Director of Alumni and Parent Programs
Attending the I-club Culture Week dinner was a special treat for us. It brought so many fond memories of years past, especially in meeting again former students, fellow staff and faculty during our years in Waverly. The meal was a smashing success...delicious! I am just sorry that we could not be with all of you on Saturday night; but we enjoyed watching the video presentation of the program. Our best to all the international students at Wartburg. Congratulations on another grand Culture Week!
Dr. Linda Wolf, previous Director of Int’l Student Programs

To I-Club Kitchen Crew!,
Thank you for your amazing help and dedication and attention to detail to complete one of the finest culture dinners held at Wartburg. I want to thank you for following the rules and for going outside your comfort zone. I understand the commitment it takes to produce large quantities of food. You should pat yourselves on your back for the wonderful job that you did this past weekend.
Once again thanks. Your friend always,
--Clarence Dawson, Dining Services
Great job this past weekend. The talent was outstanding. It was apparent that all of you not only enjoyed participating, but each of you displayed that drive to do your best. Your performances were very professional and entertaining.
--John Myers, Director of Campus Security & Safety
Thank you to all the International Students who helped to make Culture Week such a success. Every year I think that it will be impossible to top this performance and meal. Yet the next year I am continually amazed by the talent, the commitment, and the hard work that produces a top-quality performance. This year I really felt an amazing amount of energy so that by the end I was both energized and exhausted at the same time. The response of those sitting around me was spontaneous and heartfelt with the cheers, applause, and standing ovation. We are fortunate at Wartburg to have such an excellent and diverse group of international students who enrich the lives of all of us.
--Dr. Fred Strickert, Professor of Religion
I-Club,
What a wonderful job you did on the performance as well as the meal. My husband and I think it was one of the better shows we have seen. So much variety in the acts and we always love the costumes. The message that was shared throughout the performance was one everyone needs to hear more often. Come together ! We are all one community regardless of our geographical location in the world. Your efforts are applauded and we look forward to next year and what you will share with us.
--Ann Arns, Professor of Physical Education
Dear I Club Leaders,
What a fabulous, gifted group of students! Thank you so much for your leadership and for making it possible for our community to taste (figuratively and actually) a bit of your experience and the gifts of your communities. The Neumann performance on Saturday, the Sunday meal and cultural tables were wonderful. Thank you taking the time and care to organize this opportunity for the Wartburg and Waverly community. You are generous to give so much.
--Pastor Ramona
International Club Students:
Thanks you so much for the wonderful performance last Friday night! What a special way to share your cultures with the rest of us! Of course, I’m jealous that most of us Americans can’t dance like you do. We could see that you had spent much time in preparation. We invited a family and their high school Chinese exchange student so having the Chinese group perform was special for him. Thanks too for the tasty food and the special exhibits and explanations about your home countries. We learned so much.
--Lois Trachte, WRSL
I just wanted to extend my thanks to you and all the international students for the wonderful job they all did in the performance on Saturday evening. My husband and I, and our guests, truly enjoyed the production. By the quality of the show we saw, I am sure many hours were spent by these students putting this fine show together. They are to be commended!
--Bev Saathoff, Advancement Bookkeeper
Culture Week performers and I-Club members,
I got to speak with some of you after Saturday’s performance, but I want ALL of you to know how VERY much I enjoyed the show! Wow! What a wealth of talent! One of the best parts of the show for me was it looked like you all were having a good time. I could see that you had worked very hard in putting the show together. I hope you enjoyed the fruits of that labor. I had mentioned that the show was coming up to some students who have put in a proposal for a suite for next year. In their proposal, they said they’d like to learn more about other countries, so I encouraged them to go to the Culture week activities. It was fun meeting them at the show. I haven’t gotten a chance yet to talk with them, but I’m sure they enjoyed the dinner, too. I talked with a couple other students who missed the show and was describing for them the broad variety we enjoyed—band, several kinds of dance, martial arts, and more. They said, “Is it a requirement that a person has performance talent in order to come to Wartburg as an international student? If I were to go abroad and be asked to participate in such a show, I have no idea what I could do…show them how Americans eat hamburgers?!” We are truly blessed to have such talented people who are willing to put themselves up on the stage and share with all of us. Thanks for a delightful as well as educational evening.
