THE FACULTY
Approximately 107 full-time faculty members are involved in the
important tasks of teaching students and engaging in scholarly and
creative activity. The student-faculty ratio is 12:1, and the average
class size is 21. Faculty members are expected to be effective classroom
teachers interested in students as individuals; scholars or artists
who continue to develop professionally; and professional educators
open to new ideas in curriculum development and pedagogy. We actively
seek candidates who have appreciation and understanding of the church-related
liberal arts college. The teaching load for full-time faculty is
seven courses per academic year: three in Fall Term, three in Winter
Term, and one in May Term.
BENEFITS
Faculty members receive an excellent benefits package, including
TIAA-CREF retirement, family health and dental insurance, a personal
travel account, tuition remission for spouses and children, and
access to college events at low or no cost.
