  This comprehensive website, from Dartmouth College, provides useful tips for writing history papers. It talks about two kinds of history papers: those using primary sources, and those using secondary sources. It is geared towards both novice and advanced writers in that it gives very simple directions on the basics, such as writing arguments, but also addresses more complex concerns, such as being careful of biases and addressing evidence that contradicts the argument being made.
