If you are not affiliated with Wartburg College, but you want to use Wartburg College resources to conduct your research and/or you want to collect data from Wartburg College students, faculty or staff members, you need to submit the following materials to Wartburg’s Human and Animal Research Review Committee (HARRC) for review and approval before you begin data collection:
- A letter describing the following:
- Your institutional affiliation,
your position, and your research training
- The purpose of the proposed
project (e.g., master’s thesis research)
- Your reasons for collecting
data at Wartburg College
- A letter of approval for the
project from your home institution’s institutional review
board (IRB). If you have not obtained approval from an IRB for
some reason (e.g., your institution does not have an IRB), explain
this in the letter mentioned above.
- Review the guidelines at the
link “Resources for researchers using human subjects”
(link is included below). Complete the human subjects protocol
form.
- Send all materials listed above
in electronic format to HARRC@wartburg.edu.
HARRC reviews protocols once a week. Contact the HARRC
chairperson for information regarding protocol submission
deadlines.
