Murphy is third on the Wart burg men's basketballantime scoring list with 1,409 career points (15.2 points per game). The four-time letterman is one of two Knights to earn first team an- Iowa Confetence honors three times. He played on the 1987 and 1989 conference championship teams.

In his senior season, Murphy scored 489 points, hit 49.2 percent of field goal attempts and 66.7 percent of free throws and achieved his third straight 120-plus rebound campaign He was 1989 conference and team MVP, National Association of Basketball Coaches first team all-star and a member of the all- West Regional tournament team.

Murphy also earned two letters in golf He completed an M.B.A. degree in 1991 at Texas Chtistian University and is now president of MPM Signs in Ankeny.
