Margheim was a three-time All-HAC selection in basketball and a first-team pick in football in 1955, when he led the league in scoring. He passed for 1,827 yards and had a career total offense of 2,002 yards. In basketball, he averaged 17.2 points per game and had a career total of 1,338 points. He was a four-time letterwinner in baseball.
