Helping head wrestling coach Jim Miller build the Knights program into the powerhouse it is today, Christenson was a two-time NCAA Division III All-American during his career, earning a third-place finish in 1992 and winning the title in 1993. He was also an Iowa Conference champion during his senior season. A four-year starter with a 111-36 record, Christenson was a captain of the 1993 team that finished second in the nation.
