A four-sport letterwinner, Bomhoff is best known for
competing simultane-ously in two spring sports. In
a single day in 1955, he won the 100- and 220-yard
dashes at the conference track meet and hit .283 in
baseball.
He
lettered three years in football, basketball, and
baseball and twice in track.
In a football career shortened by injury, he rushed
for 941 yards and caught passes for another 889. In
basketball, he totaled 160 points and played on the
1955 championship team. His career batting average
in baseball was .321, and he hit .436 in his final
season.
