Germany: Friedrich-Schiller University

The city of Jena is situated 300 km south of Berlin and 350 km northeast of Frankfurt/Main in the state of Thuringia, the "Green Heart of Germany." With its 100,000 inhabitants, Jena is the largest town of the Central Saale Valley, stretching along both sides of the Saale river. The surrounding limestone mountains give the area, which is famous for its beautiful and unspoiled landscapes, its characteristic appearance. The mountains, which sotre the heat of the summer sun, help to make Jena one of the warmest cities in Germany.

The program is open to all third- and fourth-year students proficient enough in German to attend classes conducted in German. Friedrich-Schiller University is known for its programs in medicine, physics, and technology. However, humanities, social sciences, and science programs are available as well.
