Wartburg College

PhotoWartburg College faculty from the science, math, computer science, and psychology areas invite high school students to participate in this year’s Cedar Valley Science Symposium, scheduled for Saturday January 17, 2009.

CVSS is a one-day workshop designed to give science-, math-, and psychology-oriented high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to pursue, in depth, specific areas in contemporary science and mathematics. Each workshop, led by Wartburg College faculty, consists of 6-12 students and the instructor.

Participating seniors are eligible for a Cedar Valley Science Symposium Scholarship of up to $1,000 per year for a maximum award of $4,000 over the four years that the student is enrolled at Wartburg.  Selection is based on evidence of outstanding scholarship in the sciences and mathematics and participation in the Symposium, including a writing sample.

The schedule, workshop descriptions, and application are available at www.wartburg.edu/cvss. All application materials must be received no later than December 5, 2008. Notification of acceptance and workshop assignment will be e-mailed or mailed on January 7.

Please share this e-mail/information with appropriate teachers, counselors, and students at your school.

I hope some of your students will join us!
