Wartburg education students are heavily involved in campus life. Below are a some of the organizations education majors tend to join.

Wartburg Association of Student Educators
The Wartburg Association of Student Educators is a student-led educational organization dedicated to assisting all education majors by providing information, skills, and activities that promote professional development. In addition, WASE provides the opportunity for education majors to find support, friendship, and networking. Meetings are held at least once a month and are open to any education major, as well as those who are thinking of entering the education field. There is a small membership fee, which covers the expense of speakers and other materials.

MENC – Music Educators National Conference
MENC is a professional, nationally recognized organization that is available for all Music Education Majors. The goal of MENC is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all. Music allows us to celebrate and preserve our cultural heritages, and explore the realms of expression, imagination, and creation resulting in new knowledge. Therefore, every individual should be guaranteed the opportunity to learn music and to share in musical experiences. The Wartburg Chapter of MENC feels that music should also help individuals explore their own boundaries, make them challenge themselves, help establish relationships, and provide an enjoyable and pleasant atmosphere, all at the same time. Monthly meetings are held and speakers present different topics.

Kappa Delta Pi
Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education, is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. The Society is a community of scholars dedicated to worthy ideals that include: scholarship and excellence in education; development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices; growth and leadership of its diverse membership; and inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues. Kappa Iota is Wartburg’s local chapter. Membership into Kappa Iota requires the following: junior standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, and acceptance into Wartburg’s Teacher Education Program.
