Leisinger came to Wartburg after serving as vice president for development at the University of Northern Iowa Foundation since February 2003. Prior to UNI, Leisinger was director of development at Wartburg from 2000 to 2003. Leisinger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and communication arts from Wartburg. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in communication from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley.

Don came to Wartburg in July 2009 after serving as VP for Advancement at Waldorf College.  In 2001 he received his Certified Fund Raising Executive certification (CFRE) from CFRE International.  Don directs, administers and coordinates the development staff and development programs.  He works with alumni and friends in Des Moines, Quad Cities, Mason City/Clear Lake and other central and northeastern Iowa areas.  He also works in the New England states, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, the Twin Cities of Minnesota, and the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho,

Jay is a 1999 graduate and returns to Wartburg after spending nine years in corporate fundraising for the Iowa Public Television Foundation. Jay works with alumni, friends and the corporate community in Iowa, Minnesota, California, Arizona and Texas.

A 1964 Wartburg graduate, Al works out of our Evergreen, Colo. office working with individuals on gift and estate planning. Al returned to his alma mater in 1999 after serving as a development professional with the YMCA. Al works with alumni and friends in Fort Dodge, Spencer, Sioux City, and other western Iowa areas.  He also works in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

A 1975 Wartburg graduate, Denny returns to campus after working for CUNA Mutual in Kansas City, Mo. He works with individuals on gift and estate planning. Denny works with alumni and friends in Des Moines, Quad Cities, Ottumwa, and Burlington, Iowa areas.  He also works in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Christa joined the staff at Wartburg in June 2012.  She previously worked for 9 years in Quality Improvement and Information Management at Exceptional Persons, Inc., a leading service agency supporting adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.   Prior to that, Christa worked for Cedar Valley Economic Development in Waterloo and attended Waldorf College and the University of Northern Iowa.  In the Advancement office at Wartburg, her principal duties include development research and data collection, reporting, and analysis.

A 2008 alumna of Wartburg College, Lia joined the staff in 2013. She plans, organizes, and directs the overall aspects of the capital campaign. Lia previously worked in the development office at Loras College in Dubuque.

Kim joined the staff in June of 1989.  Her primary responsibilities include staff support of the college development officers, and managing the annual scholarship recognition program.  She also manages the college’s planned giving illustrations, charitable gift annuities, and donor estates.

Danise joined Wartburg in 2002.  Her primary responsibilities include managing the donor database, report writing and adding new records as needed.  Danise and her husband, Dave, have 2 daughters, one of which is a Wartburg graduate.

Suzie joined Wartburg in 1990 as administrative assistant to the vice president for institutional advancement and the director of development. Most often, whether you’re calling the office or visiting in person, Suzie will be the first person to greet and assist you. Her duties include correspondence, donor relations, fundraising support, and major event planning.  Some of those events include Christmas with Wartburg, Round Table annual recognition event, and the biannual President’s Advisory Council meeting.

Bev joined the development staff in1980.  Her primary responsibilities include bookkeeping and computer generated report writing.  She enjoys attending Wartburg cultural events and being host to a Wartburg student from Japan. 
Renee Clark

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Wartburg College in 2004, Renee worked as a marketing director in Waverly before returning to Wartburg in 2007.  She works with alumni, parents, friends and students to support the annual fund and engage them in the life of the college.

Tony Smith, Assistant Director of Alumni and Parent Relations
Tony joined the Wartburg family in 2012 as an intern in the Admissions Office while working on his postgraduate degree in Post Secondary Education: Student Affairs at the University of Northern Iowa. He transitioned to the Alumni Office in 2014. He enjoys working with alumni, students, parents and friends of the college.
Jeff Keen, Assistant Director of Annual Giving
Prior to coming to Wartburg in 2012, Jeff worked for two years as director of development and marketing for the Bosco System Catholic Schools in Gilbertville.  He earned an associate’s degree from North Iowa Area Community College and completed a B.A. in political science at the University of Iowa. Keen spent two years with RuffaloCODY in Cedar Rapids, supervising phone campaigns for colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations.
Laurie Laurie Everhardt '92

Laurie joined the staff in 2013. Prior to Wartburg, she worked for 12 years at Waverly Health Center, most recently as volunteer services and foundation manager. She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education (American Government and History) from Wartburg College in 1992. In addition to working with alumni, parents and friends of the college, she helps area businesses partner with Wartburg as event and program sponsors.

Steph joined the Alumni and Parent Relations office in 2014 after working 15 years as a copy editor and page designer at the Cedar Rapids Gazette, the Des Moines Register, and as a freelancer for books and magazines. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, electronic media and religion from Wartburg College in 1999.
Jane LindnerOffice Coordinator for Alumni and Parent Relations

Jane joined Wartburg in January 1992 as secretary to the director of alumni and parent relations. Her main duties are greeting visitors to the office, answering the department phone calls and handling any questions or concerns, coordinating mailings, assisting with email communications, coordinating attendee lists and day-of-event needs for the many alumni and student events held on campus or around the United States. These include Outfly picnics, alumni tours, Senior Pig Roast, Family Weekend, and Homecoming Weekend.
Amy Burman, Office Coordinator for Annual Giving
Amy earned an associate’s degree in applied science from Hawkeye Community College, where she also completed the executive administrative assistant program. Prior to coming to Wartburg in 2012, she worked as executive assistant/secretary at Hudson Elementary School, served as the school district’s prom coordinator, and coached varsity girls golf and eighth-grade girls volleyball.
