Planned Giving
Planned giving assures the future success of Wartburg. Youre
invited to consider membership in the Heritage Society. Membership
is offered to those who make provisions for the college in one or
more of the following ways:
- A bequest.
Make Wartburg a beneficiary in a new or revised will or add a
codicil to an existing will.
- An insurance policy. Make
Wartburg the sole or partial beneficiary on a life insurance policy.
You could also gift ownership of a policy to the college.
- A gift annuity. Enter into
an agreement with Wartburg for a charitable gift annuity or a
deferred gift annuity to provide a life income for one or two
lives.
- A gift to provide college funds
for grandchildren. Establish an education unitrust or a deferred
gift annuity with college option to assist grandchildren with
funds for educational expenses.
- A trust. An irrevocable
charitable annuity trust or unitrust can benefit the donor today
and the college in the future. A revocable trust arrangement also
can establish a future provision for Wartburg.
- A life estate. Make a gift
to Wartburg of your home or farmland, retaining use of the property
during your lifetime.
- A future gift from an IRA,
pension, or other qualified plan. Name the college as a beneficiary
for such plans or direct a plan into a testamentary trust
- An endowed scholarship.
Benefit Wartburg students through a perpetual scholarship that
will be awarded annually (minimum of $20,000).
- An outright gift. Establish
a restricted endowment of cash, property, stock, insurance, etc.
(minimum of $20,000).

HERITAGE SOCIETY

The Wartburg College
Heritage Society was established in 1977 to thank alumni and friends
who have included the college in their estate plans. We believe
those who have made provisions for future gifts to Wartburg deserve
to be recognized and thanked during their lifetimes. More than 600
households and 1,000 individuals of all ages are members of the
Heritage Society.
A planned gift, personally presented to Wartburg by the donor or
arranged for delivery through the donors estate, helps prepare
students to serve in church and society. For many Heritage Society
members, a planned gift is an extension of their generosity to Wartburg
during their lifetimes.
