PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELORS

Wartburg College recognizes and appreciates the work that professional school counselors complete on a daily basis. We know your time is limited and is best spent with your students – not searching for the information you need.  Hopefully the resources available on this page will not only make this task more manageable or useful, but will also enhance your professional work to help students make the most of the opportunities they have earned through their hard work.

Fast Facts and National Recognition
Wartburg consistently ranks among the top liberal arts colleges in U.S. News and World Report. Peterson’s and the Princeton Review also rank Wartburg very well in their publications. Approximately 1/3 of the student body ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class.

Small classes and individual attention
Wartburg students receive individual attention from professors who are genuinely interested in teaching and in students. Students are taught by experienced professors, not graduate teaching assistants. Wartburg’s faculty/student ratio is 11:1.

Application Process
Wartburg is selective in granting admission to graduates from accredited high schools and colleges. The college limits enrollment of first-year and transfer students. Admission is on a rolling basis. Students who apply are considered on the basis of their probable success.

Financial Aid Process
Wartburg believes that students should be able to select a school for academic rather than financial reasons. It admits students on academic and personal promise, not the ability to pay.

History of Wartburg
Founded in 1852, Wartburg College is a nationally recognized selective four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
