Dear Pastor and Youth Leaders,

Many of you have faithfully attended Wartburg’s annual Junior High Youth Event held the first Saturday in November, but this year we have changed the date and program. This year on Saturday, September 12, Wartburg College will be one of the first stops on the Jesus, Justice, Jazz Tour, featuring Lost and Found, Dave Scherer, and Rachel Kurtz.  This tour is taking place as a partnership program with the Northeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA to help our youth celebrate Jesus with music and fellowship, to educate them about hunger needs and to raise money for world hunger.  Both junior and senior high students and their sponsors are invited to attend.

There are two options for this event:

1)  Servant Event, Dinner and Concert -  The Servant Event begins at 2:00 p.m. and includes dinner, the Jesus, Justice, Jazz concert, and other ‘perks’.  The Servant Event will give students an opportunity to learn about world hunger needs and participate in a project that will provide direct support for people in the Cedar Valley area who are in need. The opportunity to be part of the these events is offered to you through the work of Wartburg Campus Ministry, the Northeastern Iowa Synod, and the generosity of Wartburg students who will provide leadership and program support for the afternoon events.  Tickets for the entire event will cost $10 per person.

2)  Concert – The Jesus, Justice, Jazz Tour Concert will feature Lost and Found, Dave Scherer, and Rachel Kurtz and will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 12, in Neumann Auditorium.  Tickets for the concert only will cost $15 per person.

To obtain tickets for either the Servant Event (which includes the concert) OR the concert only, go to www.vendini.com/service/tickets.  Tickets will go quickly, so if you plan to attend, be sure to act soon.  Registration for the Servant Event will close on August 15, 2009. There is a firm deadline for participation in the Servant Event.
