Peer Helper Program

The Peer Helper program is a program of Wartburg’s Campus Ministry.  Peer Helpers are trained to effectively and caringly walk through life’s joys and challenges with their peers.  Some would call it a ‘pastoral care’ program.  It’s goal is to help build a deeper, broader, and more supportive community.

Peer Helpers equips students to put their faith into action as they commit to reach out to their peers with careful listening, caring actions, consistent hospitality, and skilled communication. Peer Helpers actively participate in an extended initial training, formal and informal contacts with their peers during the academic year, monthly meetings with their Peer Helper group, and regular follow up contact with and the campus pastors.
