
Associate Professor of Communication Arts
Dr. Earl holds B.A. and
M.A. degrees in theatre
from California State
University at Long Beach,
an M.P.A. from Brigham
Young University, and a
Ph.D. in theatre from the
University of Oregon.
He
has taught a wide range
of theatre courses and previously served on the
faculty of Western Oregon University, Oregon
State University, and Weber State University in
Ogden, Utah.
Earl has designed sets and costumes for
organizations such as Promised Valley Playhouse
in Salt Lake City, Utah, the New Rose Theatre
and Artists’ Repertory Theatre, both of Portland,
Ore., Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre in Idaho,
Lynwood Children’s Theatre in Los Angeles, and
Olympic College in Bremerton, Wash.

and the entire production of The Iraqi Inspector
General were selected for presentation at the
Kennedy Center American College Theater
Festival regional conference, and he was honored
by the festival in 2002 for his service in the
Pacific Northwest. During the summer of 2006,
Earl was featured in two films: Besting Nero and
The Season.
He also appeared in the Wartburg
Player’s production of Mass Appeal. During
the summer of 2009, Earl served as a costume
technician for Heritage Theatre Festival at the
University of Virginia.
