
Assistant Professor of Communication Arts
Professor Brockman
holds a B.A. degree in
journalism from Iowa State
University and an M.A.
degree in journalism from
the University of Iowa.
He
brings more than 30 years
experience as a television
and radio journalist, news
director, assignment editor, and producer to the
Wartburg communication arts department.
Brockman has been awarded fellowships
and awards from regional and national news
organizations, and is the recipient of the Jack
Shelley award, the highest honor an Iowa
broadcast journalist can receive.
He is past
president and a past board member of the
Iowa Broadcast News Association and edits the
organization’s online newsletter. He also has served
as media coordinator for the Seventh Judicial
District of Iowa. He has taught at the University
of Iowa and Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.
