Cliff Brockman is an assistant professor in the Communication Arts Department and began teaching at Wartburg in 2006. He advises The Trumpet, the college’s student newspaper, and The Circuit, the college’s online student media.
Brockman has thirty-three years of professional experience in broadcast journalism, 20 years in TV news and 13 in radio news. He began his career at KWAR, the Wartburg College radio station, when he was a student at Wartburg. Brockman has been a reporter, assignment editor, producer and news director in both TV and radio.
He has an MA in journalism from the University of Iowa and a BA in journalism from Iowa State University.
He has received numerous awards for his reporting and was part of a team that won a national Edward R. Murrow Award for best newscast at WQAD-TV, Quad Cities.
Brockman is a past president and board member of the Iowa Broadcast News Association and currently edits the association’s online newsletter.
Brockman and his wife live in Waverly and have three grown children.
