Premedicine Undergraduate Information
This site provides important information that every pre-med major is responsible for knowing and understanding. Included on this site is information by academic year as well as information about successfully applying to the medical program of your choice.

Critical Factors for medical school acceptance:
Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Information on average MCAT scores for select medical schools, the official MCAT website, comments from students who have taken the MCAT, study guides and other resources.
Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) Review average scores for select university medical programs, determine your G.P.A. and time management tools.
Clinical experience is an important component of your application. Suggestions for obtaining clinical experience and links to obtaining a clinical certificate are included here.
Volunteering and giving back to the community are heavily weighted in the application process. Links to a few of the volunteer opportunities are provided here.
Interviewing skills are absolutely essential and weigh heavily in the applications review process. Review the comments and tips of students who have completed this step and explore opportunities with the Pathway Center to improve your interviewing skills.
It's important to realize that not everyone can get into the medical program of their choice. Because of that, it's very important to have other alternatives. This page provides links to medical programs such as Podiatry, Physician Assistant, Chiropractic and others.
Questions regarding this site or its content should be directed to Dr. Ed Westen, Ph.D.
