| Wind
Ensemble
The Wartburg
College Concert Bands program is comprised of two ensembles—the
Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble. In the fall of each
year, students must present an audition. By virtue of the
demonstrated ability of that audition, students are placed
into one of the two groups. Both groups represent students
of all class standings and nearly all academic majors on campus.
The two bands present both joint and individual concerts throughout
the year. The Wind Ensemble tours each spring. The 2002-03
group toured the East Coast and Midwest, including an Easter
Sunday evening performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Symphonic
Band
The Symphonic
Band is open to all students and rehearses three times per
week. Auditions are for placement only. Students who play
in the Wind Ensemble may participate in the Symphonic Band,
but they must play another instrument. The Symphonic Band
performs several concerts during the year, but does not tour. Click here for a list of current members of this group. |
