ARTS + CULTURE

The fine arts are important aspects of the Wartburg educational experience. The Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery features national and local artists as well as current student work. Throughout campus works of art adorn the corridors of nearly every building, many by important and influential artists dating back decades to hundreds of years. Wartburg’s many music ensembles perform throughout the year on campus and on tours regionally, nationally, and internationally. Wartburg ensembles have premiered works by contemporary composers including Morten Lauridsen, Ola Gjeilo, Ben Allaway, Stacey V. Gibbs, Stanford Scriven, and Connor Koppin ’13. All concerts are open to the public and most charge no admission.
