national, and international artists.

BARBARA FEDELER : LADIES AND LANDSCAPES
In this new exhibit, artist Barbara Fedeler continues to explore her ancestral landscape in Northeast Iowa. Yet, for a new body of work, she has been looking into an eccentric and unexpected source for inspiration. She started clipping obituaries of elderly women, some rural, some urban, from the local newspaper. It is remarkable how much character and dignity is revealed in the faces found in these simple public announcements. They become a tender evocation of the collective memory of a community.

PROJECT AWARE: THE SCULPTURE OF DAVID WILLIAMSON
This exhibit features a unique partnership between Art, Environmental Awareness and Community Engagement. Project AWARE is an annual river clean-up hosted by the Iowa DNR and other related groups. The volunteer participants are on a special lookout for salvage metal that the Artist David Williamson transforms into monumental sculpture.

A LIFE SHARED IN ART: THE ART OF ARTHUR AND AIDA FRICK
Professor Emeritus Arthur Frick and his wife Aida have enjoyed a long and distinguished career at Wartburg College. As they prepare to return to Aida’s home country of Lebanon, it is fitting to have an authentic tribute to these two artist’s devotion to art and the community.

Chris Wubbena is an Art Professor at Southeast Missouri State University. “Speaking While Listening” is a poignant artistic exploration of a personal journey he made to Post War Vietnam with his Father, a veteran of the conflict.

BILL WITT: PHOTOGRAPHS FROM “ENCHANTED BY PRAIRIE”
This will be the first gallery exhibit of one of Iowa’s premier landscape photographers. These images of Iowa’s native beauty have been recently spotlighted in the monograph book. “Enchanted By Prairie”, published by the University of Iowa Press.
