About the Art Department

Department Majors

  • Art (Studio Art)
    The major in art is a studio degree, which exposes students to all types of traditional media including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, etc.
  • Art Education
    The major in art education is a full studio degree leading to a B.A. in art education. For the art teaching major and endorsements, see Education Department listings (Page 3).
  • Communication Design
    The major in communication design incorporates graphic design and information design.
  • These are samples of courses that you could take in a major offered by the Wartburg Art Department. Students have flexibility in scheduling their courses so these should not be viewed as the only way to schedule classes.
