English Language Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizen Applicants Students who have studied for one year or longer at an American secondary or post-secondary institution where English is the language of instruction may not require any formal test of English proficiency. The Associate Director for International Recruitment will review their transcripts and determine whether additional testing is required. Students who complete their secondary studies at an international or national school where English is the primary language of instruction may not require any formal test of English proficiency. The Associate Director for International Recruitment will review transcripts and national exam results to determine whether additional testing is required. Wartburg College will accept TOEFL, IELTS, and EIKEN examination results. Students who score highly are admitted as regular students and are not required to take the American English Language and Culture course (EI 195). Those with lower scores are admitted to the Bridge Program and must take El 195. Regularly admitted students may be
required to take a test of English language capability upon their
