Since joining the psychology faculty
in 1977, Dr Ribich has been teaching psychology and general education
courses; he also has served as a department chair and directed the
college's Assessment Center. In 2001, he assumed responsibilities
for a combined Office of Institutional Research and Assessment;
the office reports directly to the College President.
In collaboration with the College
President, Dean of the Faculty, and Vice-President for Enrollment
Management, this office works to support and strengthen academic
and institutional planning, decision-making, and operations by providing
research, assessment, and data analysis services that are timely
and relevant. The office assists faculty, staff and administrators
by providing consultation on program evaluation and outcomes assessment
methodology, carrying out survey research, analysis and reporting,
and preparing a variety of other types of data analysis reports
(e.g., related to student retention, graduation rates, enrollment
projections). The office also provides classroom test scoring services
to faculty and oversees the administration and processing of the Student Ratings of Instruction forms.
Dr. Ribich earned his undergraduate
degree from Ohio University in 1969, worked at Johns Hopkins Medical
School as a research assistant, and completed his Ph.D. in experimental
psychology/learning and memory at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale
in 1977.
