Wartburg names science symposium winners

WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg College hosted the Cedar Valley Science Symposium Nov. 11 for high school juniors and seniors.

Students interested in contemporary science and mathematics, specifically careers in the health professions, computer science, engineering, science and math, were invited to attend the day long event.

Students met with Wartburg College faculty members for sessions in the morning and afternoon and focused on various career opportunities in the science and math areas.

Students who attended the event were eligible for a $4,000 scholarship. Criteria include grade point average, class rank, ACT or SAT scores and evidence of outstanding scholarship in the sciences and mathematics.

Of the 45 participants, 35 won Cedar Valley Science Symposium Scholarships.
