MandalasThe work of Bart Vargas will open the 2018-19 season at Wartburg College’s Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery.

“Mandalas” will run Wednesday, Aug. 29, through Sunday, Oct. 21. An opening reception will be Friday, Aug. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a gallery talk featuring Vargas at 7 p.m.

He has exhibited throughout the world, including exhibitions at the Czong Institute of Contemporary Art in Gimpo, South Korea; the Museo de Filatelia in Oaxaca, Mexico; and the Kolkata International Art Exhibition at the Rabindranath Tagore Centre in India.

His work also can be found in many collections throughout the United States, Europe and Asia and has been featured in publications including Sculpture Magazine, New American Paintings and HGTV Magazine.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The gallery, in Bachman Fine Arts Center, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
