Symphonic Band 2017-18

The Wartburg College Symphonic Band will perform a benefit concert for the Cedar Bend Humane Society on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church.

The Newman Catholic High School Band from Mason City, under the direction of 2016 Wartburg graduate A.J. Skinner, also will perform. Freewill donations will be accepted on behalf of the Cedar Bend Humane Society.

Under the direction of Scott Muntefering, the Symphonic Band will perform “Today is the Gift” by Sam Hazo and “The Star-Spangled Banner” arranged by Brian Balmages among others. Skinner and Bard Mackey will perform a euphonium duet during “Side Partners,” a piece by H.L. Clarke. The Newman Catholic High School Band will join them for “The Boom-Boom Galop” by Randall Standridge.
