Dawn Gettler

An exhibition featuring the work of Joshua Cox and Dawn Gettler opened Thursday, Jan. 4, at Wartburg College’s Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery.

“Resonance” will be on display through Feb. 11. A gallery talk will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, with a reception following from 6 to 8 p.m.

In “resonance” Gettler and Cox have shifted from building places in order to find what they are missing to building places to form to feelings that they have found.

Cox is director of the Anderson Gallery at Drake University. He earned his master’s degree in art history and criticism from Pratt Institute and Master of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston.

Gettler earned her Master of Fine Arts from Ohio University and has exhibited throughout the nation. She has been awarded residences at Spiro Arts, The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts and ArtSpace among others.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery, in Bachman Fine Arts Center, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
