Wartburg College’s Keep on Learning continuing education series will return Jan. 7 with classes examining the influence of first ladies on the presidency.
Graham Garner, Wartburg’s vice president for marketing and communication, will lead the discussion on “Presidential Partnerships: American Presidents and First Ladies.”
“These women played incredible roles in shaping both the presidents and the presidency. They contributed to policy, culture, causes and our ideas about leadership from the White House,” Garner said, “I’m eager to share what I have learned and observed and even more so to hear what others have encountered and thought.”
Classes continue Jan. 14, 21 and 28 in the Heritage Room of Saemann Student Center. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m., followed by the class from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Parking is available near the student center for those entering campus by Wartburg Boulevard.
Registration is not required. The first class of each session is free; a $30 fee due at the second class covers the remainder of the session.
The Keep on Learning series is sponsored by Waverly Health Center. The Wartburg Alumni & Parent Relations Office coordinates Keep on Learning with the assistance of a volunteer committee. For more information, call 319-352-8491, email email@example.com or visit www.wartburg.edu/kol.
