Several open meetings will provide community members and business owners the opportunity to learn more about the Gentlemen of the Road music festival coming to Waverly June 19-20.

Meetings geared toward owners and managers of affected downtown business will be at noon and 6 p.m. Wednesdays, June 3 and 10, at the Waverly Civic Center. A meeting for the general community, including those interested in volunteering during the festival, will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Waverly Public Library.

Representatives of the City of Waverly, Waverly Chamber of Commerce and Wartburg College will present information and field questions at each meeting.

Those interested in volunteering will benefit more from the meetings by beginning to register with Work Exchange Team (WET) as a temporary employee. Registration is available online at www.workexchangeteam.com/gotria. Those who register and are approved to work one six-hour shift will be compensated $7.25 an hour and have access to the $40 staff ticket price.

The Mumford & Sons-produced festival is expected to draw about 20,000 people, half of which will camp on the festival grounds on Wartburg’s athletic fields. A smaller concert area staged downtown will open the evening of Thursday, June 18, and run through the weekend. More information is available at www.gentlemenoftheroad.com/stopovers/waverly/.
