The Winter Edition of SEEDS — Wartburg College’s sustainability newsletter — features articles on the Go Green Fair and the ongoing intercollegiate Recyclemania competition.

The Go Green Fair, which will be noon-4 p.m., Sunday, April 1, in the Hall of Champions of the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness, will have local businesses and agencies discussing reducing energy and waste as well as some interactive tables.

The student-led RecycleMania campaign is in the midst of a 10-week competition to increase awareness of waste reduction and recycling opportunities.

The issue, which marks the first anniversary of the sustainability department on campus led by coordinator Anne Duncan, also focuses on TerraCycle, a nationwide recycling effort system to convert “waste” into reusable materials. Wartburg has partnered with the Go-Hawk TerraCycle group in Waverly.

In addition, The W is cited for its reduction in paper consumption.
