Castle Singers performance — The Castle Singers will be performing at Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s Fall Festival on Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m. The ensemble is then invited to share a meal with the congregation. Director of the ensemble is Dr. Jane E. Andrews.  

St. Elizabeth Chorale performance — The St. Elizabeth Chorale sang for services at St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City, Oct. 24, and at Trinity Methodist Church in Waverly on Sept. 17.  Dr. Jane E. Andrews is director or the ensemble. 

A Fine Romance Traveling Exhibit — The Waverly Public Library invites you to see the traveling exhibit “A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs” from Nov. 2-Dec. 23.  “A Fine Romance” tells the story of the many Jewish composers such as Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern and George Gershwin, who helped create the great American songbook. Jewish hors d’oeuvres will be served and entertainment will be provided by several musicians from the area. 

Speaking Well — Dr. Jennifer  Larson, assistant professor of voice, will discuss “Speaking Well Makes the Difference: Knowing how to speak one-to-one, or to a group of many, will give you the edge” at a Waverly Toastmaster Loudspeakers Club training session Nov. 9. The session will focus on speaking techniques, voice projection and finding your authentic voice.
