Beth Meyer of Waverly has joined the full-time staff of the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center as assistant director, personal training and massage therapy.

Meyer has worked part-time as a personal trainer, massage therapist and group exercise instructor at The W since it opened to the public in January 2008.

“We are excited to add Beth to our full-time staff in this newly created position,” said executive director Jim Langel. “Her background in administration and supervision and her skills as a personal trainer and massage therapist will be great assets to these growing programs.”

Meyer will maintain a regular client base as well as training and supervising new employees and marketing personal training and massage therapy services to W members and non-members.

Before joining The W staff, Meyer was a wellness and facility supervisor at the Cedar Falls Recreation Center for five years. During that time, she raised revenues for fitness programs and personal training.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier recognized Meyer in 2002 as one of 20 individuals under the age of 40 making a difference in their communities.
