The second “Bach’s Lunch,” focusing on the life and music of Johann Sebastian Bach, will be Friday, Oct. 14, at Wartburg College.
Dr. Karen Black, professor of music and college organist, is presenting the series, which is open to the public, featuring a preconcert talk followed by a recital in the Wartburg Chapel.
The hour-long program will begin at noon with lunch in the Chapel Commons basement. Black will give a brief preconcert talk, offering insight into Bach’s music and giving the listener a deeper understanding of each piece.
Black will give an organ recital in the sanctuary to conclude the program.
Other concerts are scheduled for Nov. 11, Feb. 17, March 16, and April 13.
Those attending are invited to bring their lunch or to order a lunch prior to the program at the Den Rittersaal Restaurant in Saemann Student Center.
