Wartburg College was one of only two schools to attract more than 500 prospective students during Iowa Private College Week.

Wartburg hosted 527 high school students among 1,450 total visitors, including parents and friends, during Iowa Private College Week, Aug. 1-5. Wartburg has had more than 500 high school juniors and seniors visit for seven consecutive years

Thirty colleges participate in Iowa Private College Week. According to the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, only Drake University had more student visitors.

“We place a great emphasis on Iowa Private College Week to showcase for students the many wonderful attributes of a private education and specifically the value of a Wartburg College experience,” said Todd Coleman, assistant vice president for admissions.

Coleman said almost 40 percent of students who visit Wartburg during Iowa Private College Week enroll.

“We believe they come away from their visit with a much greater sense of the Wartburg community and the family of individuals here who want to help them succeed,” Coleman said.
