“A Tribute to Frankie Valli and Broadway” by the Unexpected Boys kicks off the 2011-12 Wartburg College Artist Series Thursday, Sept. 29.
The Unexpected Boys have appeared in 12 different shows on Broadway, including “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Hairspray” and “Wicked!” They have been the opening act for Diana Ross, Dionne Warwicke and Chubby Checker and recently performed on the season finale of “The Housewives of New York” on Bravo.
The quartet features such Four Seasons standards as “Walk Like a Man,” “Sherry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Let’s Hang On” and “Rag Doll.” Their Broadway repertoire includes songs from “Wicked!” “Footloose,” “Grease,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “Guys and Dolls.”
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance in Neumann Auditorium are $19-$30 and can be purchased at the ticket office in Saemann Student Center, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., online at www.wartburg.edu/artist/ or by calling 319-352-8691 or 800 772-2085, ext. 8691. Student tickets (K-12) are $10 per show.
Wartburg students can get a free ticket by showing their ID at the ticket office.
